PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 06/21/1917 Hitchcock, Madie
(Marriage - 13 JUN 1917) In a quiet home
wedding at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. M.
Hitchcock, their daughter Madie, became the bride of Guy E.
Carleton of Mohall, N.D. The ceremony took place at six o'clock on
Wednesday, June 13, 1917, the Rev. A. A. Secord of Alexandria
officiating. Ethelyn, a sister
of the bride, and her Wallace, her brother, were the attendants.
The bride was gowned in white georgette crepe and crepe de chine,
carrying lilies of the valley. The bridesmaid wore a costume of
cream colored silk. The happy couple will leave tonight for
Alexandria and the cities on their bridal tour. Mrs. Carleton is
well known and has a large circle of friends. She was born and
reared in Glenwood and is a graduate of the local high school. She
is in every way fitted for her new station in life. Mr. Carleton
originally came from Colby, Wis., where his folks still reside.
Four years ago he taught in the Glenwood High School, and
consequently is no stranger to our people. It was during his career
in Glenwood that began the romance, which has culminated so
felicitously. At the present time he is manual training instructor
and director of athletics in the high school of Mohall, N.D.
(Glenwood, Minn. Herald) Guy and his bride
arrived here (Colby, Wis.) Saturday for a visit with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Carleton, and are receiving congratulations of
numerous friends. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
