The Rev. Norbert H. Miller of 105 S. Eaton Ave., Greenwood, is pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, 211 E. Division St., Greenwood and Christie United Methodist Church, Christie. He came to those areas June 10, 1982 from United Methodist parishes of Lime Ridge, Cazenovia, and Sandusky, near Reedsburg in Sauk County.

Miller was born April 1, 1914 in Seymour. He attended Crystal Spring Grade School, Seymour High School, North Central College, United Methodist College of Naperville, Illinois, spent a year in clinical theological training at Elgin, Illinois, and three yeas at Evangelical Theological Seminary, Naperville, Illinois. He became a licensed preacher on trial in 1933, recommended by the Seymour congregation, was ordained an elder in 1943 at Oshkosh at the annual conference presided over by Bishop G.E. Epp, and received his master of divinity degree June 2, 1972 from the Evangelical Theological Seminary while at Lime Ridge parish. He worked for eight years on the United Methodist State Committee on Evangelism, was a member for eight years on the State Board of Discipleship, worked with 4-H for 15 years on photographic projects and was a member of the community action programs in their inception in Sauk County. For four years, beginning in 1939, Miller was pastor at Prarie du Chien, then spent 18 years at Wauzeka-Eastman, was at Elk Mound-Tron Creek from 1961-64, and was at Lime Ridge, Sandusky-Cazenovia for 18 years before locating at Greenwood-Christie. The pastor has attended national conferences of United Methodist Church which concentrate on church growth and specialize in the study and principles effective in helping churches to grow.

Married in 1939, he and his wife Mary Katherine, are the parents of seven children, Mrs. Mary Lydia Mullen, Madison; Mrs. Faith Sipple, Menomonie; Mrs. Ruth Antonic, Porr Vue, Pennsylvania; Mrs. Martha Colwell, Hyland, California, Norbert R. Miller, Green Bay; Luke Miller, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Esther Frost, La Crosse.
