PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 11/14/1918 Langjahr, Oliver
J. (29 Jul 1895 - 30 Sep 1918) Last Thursday
morning our community was again shocked with grief when the
telegram came announcing the death of Private Oliver J. Langjahr,
who passed away at the Military Hospital No. 21, Paignton, England,
Sept. 30, 1918, of pneumonia. Oliver Langjahr
was born at Kiel, Wis., July 29, 1895 and came to Colby, Wis. with
his parents nineteen years ago, and this city had been his home
until he was called for military service. During the past four
years he was employed by H. J. Welsch, proprietor of the Colby dray
line, and was a capable and conscientious worker. His cheerful and
honest ways gained for him the lasting friendship of all. He was
called into service and left for Camp Grant the 25th of last July
and went overseas Sept. 12th. He is survived by
his father Otto W. Langjahr, and brothers Arvin and Otis, and his
twen brother Elmer, who is somewhere in France. The many friends
here will miss this brave soldier boy and the deep sympathy of all
goes out to his bereaved ones. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
