PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 05/01/1919 Reeves, Eliza A.
(3 May 1841 - 20 Apr 1919) Died, at the home
of a friend in Edgmont, S.D., April 20, 1919, Mrs. Eliza A. Reeves,
aged 77 years, 11 months and 17 days. Deceased was born
May 3, 1841 in Canada, where she resided a number of years. In the
year 1857, on Dec. 20th, she was united in marriage to Mr. William
Reeves to which union was born five children, three sons: John E.
Reeves of Belleham, Wash., Henry A. of Colby, Wis., and William of
Lake Bay, Wash., Catharine, who passed away Sept. 15, 1863 and Mary
who passed away five days earlier, Sept. 10, 1863. In 1877 the family
moved to Colby, Wis., where in the year, 1888, on Oct. 9th, her
husband passed away of malignant cancer in his 63rd year. Seventeen
years ago Mrs. Reeves left Colby and has since made her home at
Edgmont, where 2 weeks ago she was taken sick with
influenza-pneumonia, from which she never recovered. The remains were
shipped to Colby for burial last week Friday, accompanied by her
son Henry, who had gone to see his mother the fore-part of last
week. Burial services were held Sunday afternoon from the M. E.
Church, Rev. J. H. Paul officiating. Burial was made in the Colby
