MAY 1883 - 12 Jul 1919) Arthur Baker, for
several years a resident of this city (Colby, Wis.), passed away at
St. Joseph's Hosptial in Marshfield last Saturday of Addison's
Disease. Deceased was born
May 4th, 1883 at Seymour, Wis. and when a young man went to Dawson,
Minn., where in 1908 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna
Johnson. The fuenral was
held from his home at Spencer, Wis. Tuesday morning, services in
the catholic Church at Loyal, the Rev Joseph Stenz officiating.
Burial was made in St. Anthony's Cemetery at Loyal. The funeral was
in charge of the Eagles, of which organization Mr. Baker was a
member. Besides his wife,
deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Baker,
Minneapolis, Minn., six sisters, Mrs. Ben McKeegan, Minneapolis,
Mrs. Albert Davel, Loyal, Mrs. Amos Leatherdale, Loyal, Laura and
Lula Baker of Minneapolis, four brothers: Charles of Gilman, David
and John of Minneapolis and Frank of Whapeton, N.D. All were
present at the funeral. Mr. Baker, since
leaving this city five years ago, has run a drink emporium in the
village of Spencer and had a wide acquaintance there and the
surrounding country. Being of a cheerful disposition and "one of
the boys" whenever the occasion came up, he won for himself a large
