John Syth and Claude Carter played ball with the Longwood boys, Sunday.

Dr. G. L. Buland purchased the stock of drugs of Dr. H. J. Thomas.

The young friends of Miss Pearl Hogue gave her a pleasant surprise Tuesday evening, in honor of her sixteenth birthday.

C. C. Harding of Loyal, purchased the farm of G. L. Buland, six miles north-east of Greenwood and moved onto it. We were glad to get Charlie over into our Greenwood territory!

Dr. H. J. Thomas left for Chicago on Monday, Sept. 2? To attend a surgical institute to perfect himself in surgery, having been out of practice for several years. Upon his return after six weeks, he removed to his southern home at Winston, North Carolina.
