Marie Lorraine Plummer

Marie Lorraine Plummer, 95, Owen, died on Friday, Aug. 13, 1999, at the Oakbrook Manor Nursing Home in Thorp.

Funeral services were on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1999 at 11 a.m., at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen, with Rev Tom Myhre officiating. Burial was in the Arkansas Public Cemetery in Pepin County. Family and friends gathered for a visitation at eh Maurina Funeral in Owen on Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, from 4 to 8 p.m.

The former Marie Sweeney was born on Oct. 19, 1903 in Arkansas, Wis., the daughter of Steven and Harriet (Bermett) Sweeney. Marie and Frank Plummer were united in marriage on July 10, 1919 in Arkansas. Frank died on July 23, 1963.

Frank and Marie owned and operated a restaurant in Rice Lake. They later moved to Neillsville where Marie was an interior decorator. She resided in Owen since 1976 and in 1996, became a resident of the Oakbrook Manor.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter Judy (Rueben) Garbisch of Granton; special friend Melvin "Whitey" King of Owen, daughter-in-law Deveda Plummer of Granton; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank Plummer; three sons: Byron Plummer, Bernard Plummer and Blair Plummer; two brothers; one grandson and one great-grandson.

Pallbearers were Robert Garbisch, Bernie Plummer, Jim Garbisch, Ron Solberg, Deil Hoagland, Gary Anderson.

Honorary pallbearers were Tom Garbisch and Boyd Plummer.

A memorial will be established in her name at a later date.

Maurina Funeral Home of Owen, assisted the family with arrangements.
