Glenzer, John (4 FEB 1862 - 25 Feb 1920)
John Glenzer was born in the town of Herman, Sheboygan Co., Wis. on Feb. 4, 1862, and died Feb. 25, 1920. Forty-three years ago he came with his father and the other children to the town of Green Grove, Clark County, and the most of the time since has made his home on the farm where they settled after coming here. His father, Justis Glenzer, passed away about nineteen years ago, and from that time he and his brother, Richard, have continued to work the farm in partnership. His mother died in Sheboygan Co. before the rest of the family moved away from there.
John was a hard and earnest worker and was well liked by everyone who knew him. He was honest and square in all his dealing and always willing and ready to lend a hand to his neighbors whenever the opportunity afforded. His genial, good-natured personality will be sadly missed by a host of friends whose sympathy goes out to the sorrowing brothers and sisters he leaves to mourn him.
The surviving members of the family are Mrs. Barbara Stecker and Mrs. H. Klemm of this city, August of Kaukauna, Henry of Dorchester, and Fred and Richard of the town of Green Grove, all of who were present at the funeral, which was held from the Lutheran Church in Green Grove last Sunday afternoon, Rev. Behrendt officiating. His remains were laid to rest in the family lot of the Green Grove Cemetery.
