Messer, Anna (1875 - 30 Mar 1920)
Mrs. E. L. Messer, beloved wife of Editor Messer of the Marathon County Register, of Unity, Wis., died at the Marshfield Hospital last Tuesday morning at 1 o’clock. Her death came as a shock to the people of Unity, although she had been ailing nearly all winter. She was taken to the hospital for treatment about ten days ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Messer came to Unity from Phillips about ten years ago, where Mr. Messer and his brother were publishers of the Phillip Bee. Since their residence in Unity, Mrs. Messer had made many fast friends, which she gained by her fine, agreeable personality. She was of a quiet and unassuming disposition and her whole being was completely wrapped up in her home, husband and their children. Of the latter there are six, Lloyd of Milwaukee, Alvah, Myra, Gladys, Kathryn and Ansel.
The funeral was held today from the M. E. Church at Unity, Rev. J. C. Vance of this city officiating., numerous relatives and friends being in attendance to show their respects to the remains of a noble wife and mother. Burial took place this afternoon in the Colby Cemetery.
