SEP 1859 - 19 May 1920) Again the Angel of
Death entered a Colby, Wis. home and taken away a most estimable
wife, mother and neighbor. Mrs. August Lemke
passed away Wednesday morning, May 19, 1920, after an illness of
only three days, having been stricken Sunday noon while enjoying
her mid-day meal. Although Mrs. Lemke had not been in the best of
health since Christmas, the end came most unexpectedly. Anna Margaret Kuhl
was born in Germany, Sept. 16, 1859. She married Peter Mahlstedt in
1878 and they came to this country, settling at New Holstein,
Wis. After six years of
wedded life Mr. Mahlstedt died at New Holstein and the deceased and
children moved to Unity, Wis., where she resided until six yeas
ago, when she became the wife of August Lemke and they moved to
this city. The deceased is
survived by her husband and two children, Mrs. J. Hansen of Racine
and Richard Mahlstedt of Kenosha. She has no other relatives. The body will be
taken to New Holstein tomorrow and the funeral services will be
held at the German Lutheran Church, of which she had been a member
since childhood. The interment will be made in the church
cemetery. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
