Wicker Yerkes was born at Clay Corners, N.Y., in 1833. In July 1857
she was married to Oliver Yerkes in Washington Co., Wis., and came
with her husband to Colby, Wis. They settled on a farm south of the
city and lived there until 1903, when they moved to town. In 1916
her husband, who was a member of the local I. O. O. F. passed away
and shortly after that she went to Waupaca and lived at the State
Veterans home up to the time of her death. She was an active
member of the Rebeccahs and was well liked by all who knew her. Surviving her are
one adopted daughter and a brother, Truman Wicker of
Schleisingerville, Wis. Funeral services
were held from the M. E. Church last Friday, the I. O. O. F. being
