Holtzhausen, one of the oldest pioneers of this vicinity, died at
the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Muehlenberg, at Sheboygan last
Monday, Feb. 21. The body
accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Muehlenberg was brought here Wednesday
and the funeral held Thursday from the M. E. Church, with interment
in the Colby Cemetery. Mrs. Ida Mueller
was born Oct. 28, 1856 in the town of Wilson, Sheboygan, Co., where
she grew to womanhood. On June 17, 1877 she was united in marriage
to Karl Holtzhausen and in 1879 they came to Colby, Wis., making
their home until seven years ago when Mr. Holtzhausen passed away.
She remained here for three months and then left for Sheboygan and
made her home with her daughter, Mrs. J Muehlenberg up to the time
of her death. She is survived by
two children, Carl Holtzhausen of Colby and Mrs. John Muehlenberg,
Sheboygan, two children preceding her in death. She is also
survived by one brother, Henry Mueller of Sheboygan. Mrs. Holtzhausen
was held in high esteem by all who knew her and her death is
mourned by all. Those from out of
town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John Muehlenberg and
two children of Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kolb of Thorp, Clark
