Phonograph (Colby, Wis.) 03/04/1921 Bowser, Edward F.
(24 Feb 1865 - 1 Mar 1921) The many friends
of Mr. Edward Bowser learned with sorrow of his sudden death, which
occurred at his home at Sheboygan, Tuesday morning, March 1, 1921.
Although Mr. Bowser’s health had been poor for the past ten
years, he has been able to attend to his duties regularly and on
retiring the night previous to his death was apparently as well as
usual. He was alone at the time with his two daughters, Mrs. Bowser
being in Chicago recovering from a recent operation. Edward Francis
Bowser was born Feb. 24, 1865 in the town of Mitchell, Sheboygan
Co. In 1901 he came to Colby, Wis. and remained here for two years,
when he returned to his home and was united in marriage to Miss
Nellie Hughes of the town of Mitchell. He immediately returned to
Colby with his wife. Two children were born to them. In Nov. 1911
Mrs. Bowser passed away. In 1914 he was married to Mrs. Theresa Lex
and continued to make Colby their home until a year ago, when they
moved to Sheboygan, where he was employed in the factory of the
Northern Furniture Company. Mr. Bowser was
held in high esteem during the years in which he made Clby his
home. He was of kindly disposition, faithful and industrious and
had a large circle of friends who mourn his death. The remains were
shipped to Colby Thursday and he was buried Friday morning in the
Colby Catholic Cemetery, with services at St. Mary’s Church.
The funeral was in charge of the Catholic Order of Foresters, of
which he was an active member. He is survived by
his wife and two daughters, Blanche, 16, and Mary, 14; two
brothers, John Bowser, Merritt B. C., James Bowser, Sheboygan;
three sisters, Mrs. J. E. Lyons, Colby; Mrs. Martin Franey,
Wauwautosa, and Mrs. Phillip King of Sheboygan. Those from out of
town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. P. W. King, Mitchell,
Mr. and Mrs. James Bowser, Sheboygan, Mrs. Margbaughs and Mrs.
Kelher, Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Statmiller and Miss Emma
Dengen, Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Lex, Oshkosh, Ed Lex, Quarry, Wis.,
John Lex, Sheboygan. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
