Adolph Hake passed
away at his home in this city last Monday morning at 7:15
o’clock, after an illness of about five months, caused by
cancer of the lung. Adolph Hake was
born in the town of Herman, Sheboygan Co. May 13, 1865, and was
married to Miss Ernestina Gosse of the town of Mosel, Jan 4, 1891.
They came to Colby in 1902 and settled on a farm in the town of
Green Grove, Clark County, Wis., where they resided until two years
ago, when they rented their farm and moved into the city. Besides his widow
he is survived by a son, Walter of the town of Green Grove, three
daughters, Mrs. Roland Scheel and the Misses Helen and Edith of
Colby; two brothers, Theodore of the town of Hull, Marathon Co.,
and Herman of the town of Mosel, Sheboygan Co.; and two sisters,
Mrs. August Meves of Milan and Mrs. Wm. Henlein of Milwaukee, and
one grandchildren, Harold Scheel. Mr. Hake was a
believer in the faith and doctrine of Pastor Russell, and the
funeral is being held this afternoon at the Colby opera house, the
address being given by T. W. Petran. The Phonograph
joins with all in extending deepest sympathy to the bereaved
