Phonograph (Colby, Wis.) 06/16/1921 Benjamin, James A.
(7 Feb 1835 - 13 JUN 1921) G. T. Benjamin
left Tuesday morning for Abrams, Oconto Co., Wis. to attend the
funeral of his father who passed away at the home of his daughter,
Mrs. Carrie Lince, in that village, on June 13, 1921. James Alonzo
Benjamin was born at White Creek, N.Y., on Feb. 7, 1835, and came
to Fond du Lac, Wis. in 1856. In 1874 he came to Unity, Wis. and
resided there until 1893, when he returned to Fond du Lac. He was a
veteran of the Civil War as a member of Co. A. 14th Wis. Inf., and
for the past year or so has lived at Wis. Veteran’s Home. At
the time of his death he was on furlough and visiting the home of
his sister. A short time ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis, but
recovered wonderfully in spite of his 86 years and his death at
this time was rather unexpected. The funeral took
place at Fond du Lac yesterday. He is survived by his daughter,
Mrs. Lince, and son G. T. Benjamin of this city (Colby, Wis.) © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
