The fellow that regaled an Indian with free whiskey at Fireman’s Hall during one of the performances given several weeks ago by Macready’s Mastodon Humbugs, for which he went to the cooler, put in an appearance here again last Monday. As a pass-time he amused himself with snapping an empty revolver at several parties in Vernan’s saloon, and was again taken into custody by Marshal Hommel that evening and landed in jail. He got fifteen for the fun he had.
Fred Morley, of Viroqua, is visiting his brother, Dr. W. H. Morley, of this city. Mr. Morley is one of the craft, having been engaged on the Viroqua Censor for several years past, and is now taking a lay-off for the purpose stated above. He is a most genial gentleman, and we hope his visit May be a lengthy one.
The December number of Hungerford’s Real Estate Journal, published at Stevens Point, says of one of the hotels in this city: "When at Neillsville stop at the North Side Hotel, Geo. Huntzicker, proprietor. This hotel is entirely new and is fitted up with all modern improvements, heated by furnace and lighted by gas, and rooms all furnished nicely. He sets such a nice table that no one goes away dissatisfied. The boys all stop there".
