Colby Items: Postmaster Blanchard is fitting up his building in handsome shape for his new office. He has moved his counter out further into the room and papered the wall back of the counter with fine gilt paper. He has also ordered a set of the patent dust proof boxes which will be in position in a few days now. The office is to be both a Domestic and Foreign money order office, and Hod told us that after October 1st he would sell letter stamps at two cents each.
A son of Charles Buss, of Green Grove, 27 years of age, who has for sometime been in an insane hospital, but who was recently taken to Mr. Buss’ home, disappeared last week Tuesday. It seems he was given the freedom of the place, and on the morning of the 17th wandered into the woods. Ineffectual search has been made for him since. His hat, coat and shoes were found near the edge of the clearing, and it is feared that he has perished from hunger and cold before this time. Mr. Buss offers a reward of $100. for any information as to his whereabouts.
