(Marriage - 22 JUN 1921) St. John’s
Evangelical Church in this city (Colby, Wis.), was the scene of a
very pretty wedding, which took place on Wednesday afternoon, June
22, 1921, when Miss Elsie Volkmar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William
Volkmar, and Mr. Alfred Herrmann, son of Mrs. Gust Herrmann, of the
town of Colby, Clark County, were united in marriage by the Rev. M.
Roth. The bride wore a
gown of white silk crepe de chine with bridal veil held in place
with orange buds, and carried a shower bouquet of pink and white
carnations. She was attended by the Misses Malinda and Florence
Volkmar, her sister, who were dressed in white organdy and carried
pink and white peonies. The groom was attended by his cousin, Mr.
Harold Hermann, and Mr. William Uhlig. Little Marie
Zillmann, niece of the groom, acted as flower girl and was dressed
in white organdy and carried a basket of pink roses in which the
nuptial rings were imbedded. The wedding march was played by Miss
Stella Dessloch. After the ceremony
a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The bride is one
of the most popular and esteemed young ladies of the town of Colby.
She has grown to womanhood in this vicinity and her pleasing manner
and courteous disposition has won for her the lasting respect of
all her wide circle of acquaintances. Mr. Herrmann is one of the
enterprising young farmers of this vicinity and like his bride, is
well known to all. He has always taken great interest in town and
public affairs and is one of the directors of the Security State
Bank of this City. They will make their home on the groom’s
farm in the town of Colby. Those from out of
town who were here to attend the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs.
Lehrmann and family of Marshfield, Wm. Uhlig and children and John
Tagelman of Gliddon, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Uhlig of Boone, Iowa, Mr.
and Mrs. Charles F. Schmidt of Milan. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
