Leonard, Yvonne A. “Boots” (12 June 1933 – 21 February 2022)
Yvonne A. "Boots" Leonard, 88, Marshfield, passed away, surrounded by her loving
family on Monday, February 21, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center.
Yvonne was born on June 12, 1933, in Loyal, to William and Angeline (Miller)
Evans. As a child growing up on the farm, she would wear her father's boots and
that's how she became known as "Boots." She married Henry J. Leonard in 1951 and
they later divorced.
Boots was a well-known, longtime bartender at various establishments in the
Marshfield area. She owned and operated the Derby Bar in Marshfield for many
years. She was last employed at Karau's Super Market until her retirement.
She enjoyed, shaking dice, playing cards, darts, cooking, baking, watching the
birds, meeting with friends and having a Pabst on ice!
She is survived by her children, twins, David (Dorothy) Leonard and Dawn (Jim)
Strack, Daniel (Cathy) Leonard, all of Marshfield, Richard (Cathy) Leonard of
St. Louis, MO, Diane (Jim) Zimmermann of Marshfield, Dean Leonard of Tomah,
Dixie (Randy) Adamski, Darla Leonard, and Dennis Leonard (Pam), all of
Marshfield. She is also survived by family friends, Gina Martin and Michelle
Bores; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is further
survived by sisters Twyla Jacobi and Jackie Fink.
She was preceded in death by a son, Darwin Leonard, a grandson Adam Leonard a
great-granddaughter Audriana Leonard, a brother David Evans, sisters, Sharon
Sladek, Roxie Masanz and Vicki Evans, and special friend, Ken Lehman.
Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, June 12th from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. in
honor of her 89th birthday at the Wildwood Park Pavilion. Condolences may be

The family wishes to thank the ICU staff and Palliative Caregiver, Sara at
Marshfield Medical Center.
Memorials may be sent in Yvonne's memory to St. Jude Center for Medical Research
or Shriners Childrens' Hospital.
