Mrs. Lyle (Faith) Zimmerman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Clouse, received
her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Colorado Medical
Center in August 1979. Her specialty was training as a family nurse
practitioner.
Her husband, Lyle, also received his Master of Science Degree in Civil and
Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He
received his degree in May 1979.

Clarice Theisen, Carroll College junior from Loyal, Wisconsin, will serve as
program intern to on of the largest national vocation student organizations,
Future Homemakers of America. The high south-after internship is offered at the
organizations national headquarters at Washington, D.C.
During her year as program intern, Clarice will travel nationwide conducting
leadership workshops and participating in public relations tours. She’ll help
direct programs for a national membership of 400,000 young men and women, assist
in setting national policies, and in developing future goals for the
organization..
Special responsibilities for Clarice include working with the White House
Conference on Families and training 50 student leaders to use and promote an
exciting new film by Future Homemakers of America that expands the image of the
organization. Another major role for Clarice will be helping the organizations’
national officers plan the annual leadership meeting to be held next summer in
St. Louis.

Charles (Chuck) Vesel, son of Mrs. John Vesel, Greenwood, who is attending the
University of Wisconsin at Madison, and who plays end, was Wisconsin’s first
major football casualty when it was learned he had cracked his jaw in the
Saturday scrimmage.

June Rose Curtis and Allan Ray Prior were joined in marriage August 5, 1979. The
marriage took place in Westminster, California, with the Rev. Rick D. Way, D.D.
joining the two in marriage. Serving as attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Gene
Everette of Stanton, California.
Following the wedding there was a dinner, which was also in Westminster. The
reception took place at the home of the groom’s sister, in Stanton.
The parents of the bride are Ray and Loretta Lloyd, Loyal, and the groom’s
parents are Calvin and Irene Prior of Anaheim, California.
Bio: Schuh, Donald A. – Killed in Motorcycle Accident (Sep 1979)

A 16-year-old rural Colby youth became Clark County’s 8th traffic death of 1979.
He died when his motorcycle collided with a truck at the intersection of County
Trunk N and P, just west of Atwood.
The youth was Donald A. Schuh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Schuh, Route 2,
Colby.
According to Clark County Sheriff Harlan Sundermeyer, a truck owned by Liberty
Homes, Inc., Dorchester, and driven by James Loos, Spencer, was traveling south
on P when it collided with the motorcycle.
The accident happened about 8:30 p.m. and Schuh was killed instantly. The
motorcycle was thrown into the west ditch south of the intersection, and the
body of Schuh was found nearby. He suffered a deep laceration to the right side
of the neck, two fractures of the right arm, a compound fracture of the right
leg at the knee and deep lacerations to the right foot.
Schuh was wearing a cycle helmet at the time. The investigation of the accident
is continuing.

Darrell Laschen, physical education teacher and girls’ softball coach at Loyal,
has been appointed to the WIAA girls’ softball advisory committee. He will
served until 1982, and will do various things, such as help determine when and
whre tournaments will be located and help formulate rules and regulations.
“It’s an honor being appointed,” said Mr. Laschen.
Prentice Hall Publishing Company has also asked Mr. Laschen to write a special
softball feature for them for Women’s Coaching Clinic, a publication concerned
with women’s sports. Being asked to participate in both activities reflects
credit on Mr. Laschen, the softball team he coaches to a championship at Loyal
High School.

Grambsch, Lucy (2 Nov 1883 – 24 Sep 1979)
Mrs. Lucy Grambsch, 95, died at her home at 22 N. Main Street, Loyal on Monday
morning, September 24 at 7 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the United
Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 1979, with the Rev. Charles
Sanford officiating, and burial will take place in the Loyal Cemetery. The body
will lie in state at the Rinka Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Tuesday, and after
10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Lucy (Fortnum) Grambsch was born on November 2, 1883 to John and Kate (Kintz)
Fortnum at Ripon, Wisconsin. She graduated from the Ripon Normal School. She
attended summer school, and at the age of 16 taught at rural schools in Green
Lake County.
She was married to Ben Grambsch on June 18, 1910 at Ripon, Wisconsin. After her
marriage they operated a restaurant and candy factory in Marshfield until 1923,
and they operated a candy factory in Loyal, making homemade candy until they
retired.
Her husband preceded her in death on December 19, 1966. She was an officer of
the Rebecca Lodge and the United Methodist Church, and taught Sunday School for
many years. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1960.
Survivors include three sons, Russell, Westchester, Ohio, Clyde, Route 1, Loyal,
and Lyle, San Jose, California; one daughter, Miss Ruby Grambsch, Loyal; one
sister, Mrs. Mary Mauer, El Monte, California; 10 grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Byron Zepplin, Dale and Dave Clintsman, Bob Grambsch, Kevin
Klimpke, and Charles Anderson. Ruth Zepplin will be the organist and Mrs. Connie
Meyer will sing “In the Garden” and “Old Rugged Cross.”

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, was the setting Saturday, September 15,
1979, when Miss Mary Jo Krahn, Route 1, Loyal, became the bride of Joseph C.
Schultz, Route 2, Spencer. The 12:00 noon wedding ceremony was performed by
Father Chester Osowski. Mrs. Arnold Wolf, playing the organ, and Mr. Arnie Wolf
and Mrs. Dennis Bauer, singing, provided the music for the occasion.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Krahn, Sr., Route 1, Loyal, and
the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Schultz, 1607 S. Maple, Marshfield.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, was seen in a white floor length
dress, lace trimmed train, two layers of ruffles in the skirt, and long lace
trimmed sleeves. It had a pleated trim outlined yolk and a stand up collar. She
wore a lace trimmed three-quarter length veil with layers of lace attached to a
lacey cap style headpiece. She carried a round bouquet of white daisies, yellow
roses, baby’s breath, and greens.
Serving as maid of honor was Miss Susan J. Shull, Loyal, and the bridesmaids
were Michelle Krahn, Georgi Mertig, Mayville; Diane Wenger, Rubicon; Ute Lieder,
Rhinelander, and Martha Krahn. They wore rainbow flowered gowns and carried
parasols to match. Each of them wore a wrist corsage of white and yellow
daisies.
Tanya Mann, Hartford, and Stephen Powers, Monona, were flower girl and ring
bearer. They were dressed identically to the bride and groom.
Serving as best man was Dennis Wehe, Loyal, and groomsmen were Mark Beyerl,
Stevens Point, Terry Brock, Marshfield, John Plaskey, Loyal, and Roger Pwers,
Monona. Ushering duties were performed by Fred Krahn Jr. and John Kiefer, West
Bend.
Following the church services, there was a dinner, reception and dance held at
the Loyal Legion Hall.
The bride graduate in 1979 from Loyal High School and she is a seasonal employee
at Figi’s. The groom graduated in 1974 from Columbus High School and is a
self-employed farmer.
The wedding trip is being planned for the winter months. They will reside at
Route 2, Spencer.
