(1855 - 30 Jan 1923) Otto E. Nagel, a
farmer living three miles northeast of Colby, Wis., died of
apoplexy at his home, Jan. 30, 1923, at nine p.m., from a stroke of
apoplexy. Funeral services were held at the St. John’s
Evangelical Church, Rev. Miller officiating, Fe. 3, and interment
was made in the Colby Cemetery. The deceased was
born in Gotha, Germany in 1855 and came to the U. S. when thirteen
years old. In 1887, he was married to Frieda Weber in Sheboygan
Co., to which union six children were born, two of who are dead.
His wife was called by the grim reaper in 1897, and for seven years
he was a widow, but in 1908 he was married to Emma Eckardt of
Sheboygan, Wis., to which union two children were born. They lived
in Sheboygan four years and then moved on a farm near Curtiss,
Clark County, Wis., from where they moved to Colby. Mr.
Nagel’s second wife was called by death in 1918. After her
departure he moved on a farm three miles northeast of Colby. The following
children mourn his demise: Alfred Nagel, Emma Nagel, August Nagel,
Arthur Nagel, Mrs. Herman L. Tesmer, all of Colby; Ida E. Nagel,
Bonnes Ferry, Idaho; two stepchildren, Mrs. E. C. Bertrause,
Marion, Wis., Gustave Nagel, Sheboygan, Wis., four grandchildren
