Dembrove, Emil (23 JAN 1855 - 26 NOV 1924)

Emil Dembrove was born at Wembowitz, Germany, Jan. 23, 1855 and passed away at his home at 7 o’clock, Nov. 26, 1924 at the age of 69 years, 10 months and 3 days. Death came after a long illness caused by a stoke of paralysis several years ago. He was married to Caroline Gammer April 20, 1881 and came to this country in 1891, settling near Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. In 1904 he moved with his family to Fond du Lac and a year later came back and settled on a farm near Colby, Wis. Here they lived until 1912, when he moved with his family to Abbotsford, where he resided up to the time of his death.

Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Dumbrove, five sons and three daughters. One son, Otto, preceded his father to the grave in 1917 at the age of 31 years.

He leaves to mourn his loss a widow and our sons, Fred of Groton, S. D., Oscar of Claremont, S. D., Paul of Huffton, S. D., Rudolph of Edgar, Wis., and three daughters, Mrs. J. E. Aller of Dorchester, Mrs. K. Ingersoll of this city and Mrs. Stacke, who resides on a farm west of Abbotsford. Besides his wife and children he also leaves 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at the home and at the Lutheran Church at two o’clock Sunday, Nov. 30. The pallbearers were Messrs. Prestin, Kramer, Schertler, Wilbert and Huebscher.

Floral offerings were many and beautiful and burial was made in the Abbotsford Cemetery beside the remains of his son.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were the tree sons, Oscar, Fred and Paul of South Dakota, besides many neighbors and friends from the surrounding communities.

Sincere sympathy is extended from the Tribune and the many friends.
