ABBOTSFORD TRIBUNE (Abbotsford, Wis.) 04/02/1925 Jackson, Alonzo F.
(? - Mar 1925) Green Lake, Wis.,
March 20, 1925 -- Alonzo F. Jackson, well known locomotive engineer
on the Sool Line, died at his home in Green Lake Thursday
afternoon. His death followed a long illness. Mr. Jackson was
born in Wyoming Co., Penn., and in 1877 came to Green Lake, where
he married Jennie Owen. He was employed as engineer by the Wis.
Central and Soo Line railroads continuously from 1883 to 1921, when
he retired. For some twenty
years Mr. Jackson made his home at Abbotsford, Wis., but in 1922
came to Green Lake and purchased a home. He was a most optimistic
and genial man, one interested in all good things for Green Lake
and proved an inspiration to those who knew him. He leaves his
wife, two sons, Elmer of Green Lake and Attorney Frank Jackson of
Colby, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Parker of Downey, Cal. The funeral
was held at the residence at 11 o'clock Saturday. The services were
conducted by Rev. E. C. Hise and the Green Lake Masonic Lodge. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
