Iris Musil

Iris S. Musil, 88, Neillsville, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003 at the Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville. A Memorial Service will be held in May.

Iris Sophia Allen was born Nov. 6, 1914 in Chili, to Lucius and Vivian (nee Degener) Allen. She attended elementary schools in Augusta and Chippewa Falls and graduated from Neillsville High School in 1932. After graduation she attended Lawrence College in Appleton from 1932 - 1936. She married Allen W. Randall. They divorced in 1945. She was employed at the First National Bank, Neillsville, from 1942-1956. She married James A. Musil on Oct. 19, 1957. She served as past president of the Neillsville Business and Professional Women's Club, past Matron of the Carmi Chapter #60 and the Order of the Eastern Star, organist at the United Methodist Church and accompanist for the Clark County Male Chorus. She was a member of the Clark County Historical Society and the Black River Valley Bands. She was active in the Girl Scouts organization, and for many years accompanied students during solo / ensemble contests, and other community activities.

Survivors include two daughters, Sophia (Valen) Vaitkus, Mukwonago, and Vivian Hotchkiss, Robbinsdale, Minn.; a stepdaughter, Janice (Charles) Kucirek, Stratford; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia (Allen) Wells, Lakewood, Colo.

Preceding her in death were her husband James; her parents; one brother, Sheldon Allen; and one sister, Kathryn Farrington.

Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
