Lawrence Lindner

Lawrence S. "Sam" Lindner, 76, Loyal, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2003 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Donald Wilger officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Radish, Dale Trunkel, Dave Scherer, Paul Lindner, David Lindner, and Brian Langreck.

Lawrence Sylvester Lindner was born on Dec. 29, 1926 in Greenwood to Matthew and Gertrude (nee Scherer) Lindner. He was raised on the family farm and educated in Greenwood Schools He married Josephine Langreck on June 24, 1958, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood. They farmed in the Town of Loyal until the time of his death. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood, and its Holy Name Society. His interests included spending time with his family, playing baseball and softball, fishing, hunting, singing, entertaining, and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine Lindner, Loyal; three sons, Alan (Vickie) Lindner, Greenwood, Lewis Lindner, Rosemount, Minn., and Roger Lindner, Eau Claire; two daughters, Ann (M.C.) Little, Chandler, Ariz. and Carla (Rick) Rogstad, Eau Claire; one daughter-in-law (Ann) Lindner, Greenwood; six grandchildren; three brothers, Frank (Helen) Lindner, Loyal, Bernard (Bernardine) Lindner, Muskego, and James (Arlene) Lindner, Loyal; and three sisters, Helen (Richard) Esselman, Loyal, Loretta Lindner, Greenwood, and Jean (Fred) Budzisz, Arlington Heights, Ill.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Ralph Lindner; one daughter, Mary Jo Lindner; three brothers, Edward Lindner, Joseph Lindner, and William Lindner; and one sister, Eleanor Lindner.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
