The Rev. David E. Wenger officiated at the 7:00 p.m. wedding on Saturday,
September 24, 1977, uniting in marriage Beverly Grace Rusch, Withee, and Steven
Jude Kelley, Owen, at the Longwood Emmanuel Church, Longwood.
The parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Donald B. Rusch, Withee, and Mrs.
Shirley Kelley, owen, and Mr. Joel Kelley.
Rendering the music was vocalist, Mrs. Vicki Rusch, and organist, Mrs. Shirley
Peterson. Selections were” Colour My World,” “Sunrise Sunset,” “Day by Day,” and
“The Wedding Song” as recessional.
The bride and groom were given in marriage by their parents, in a double ring
ceremony. For her wedding the bride chose a floor length voile peasant style
gown with long sleeves and trimmed with lace. She carried a bouquet of roses,
carnations and baby’s breath.
Miss Kay Nelson was maid of honor, and bridesmaid was Kathy Nelson, both of
Withee. They wore identical dark navy blue A-line gowns trimmed with velvet, and
carried bouquets of carnations and baby’s breath.
Rob Rogalski, Crystal Falls, Michigan, was best man, and Brian Offord, Withee,
groomsman. Seating the guests were William Rusch and John Kelley. The groom was
attired in a light blue tuxedo, and groomsmen in light blue jackets and dark
blue trousers.
Following the wedding, a reception and dance were held in the recreational
facilities at the Ronald Amacher residence in rural Withee.
The bride and groom are both 1977 graduates of Owen-Withee High School. The
bride is employed at ITT Life Insurance Corporation, Thorp, and the groom works
at the Greenwood Coop.
Out of town relatives and friends coming for the wedding were Mrs. Mildred
Kessel, Steven’s grandmother, from Belfield, North Dakota; also from there were
aunts, Mrs. Ralph Kessel and Mrs. Vernon Kessel, and Mrs. John Steiner; Mrs.
Phil Schroeder, his aunt, and son Kent with friend Ruth Williams were her from
Lake Nebawagon, Wisconsin.
Also attending were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rusch, Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. Lee
Rusch, Chippewa Falls, and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Krause and family, Milwaukee; Paul
Sakach, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. John Sakach, Stanley.
Other guests were Mrs. Beverly Phillips, Lake Worth, California; Mrs. Don
Bonnart, Tomahawk, Linda Kurtinaitis, Brian, Mike Schoenfuss, and Tracy Rodgers,
all from Wausau. Other friends included Dale Laube, Tom Vesely, Madison, and a
host of neighbors, classmates and friends.
The newlyweds are making their home in rural Withee.
