(1845? - 31 Augl 1925) Paul Michaelis of
this city (Colby, Wis.), died Thursday evening, after an illness of
three and one-half years, at the age of 80 years. The deceased
suffered a stroke of paralysis three and one-half years ago, from
which he never recovered. He leaves a widow, a son and a daughter
to mourn his departure to the undiscovered country. The remains
were taken to Marion, Wis., where funeral services were held
Monday, Aug. 31, and interment made in the Marion Cemetery. The deceased, a
cigar maker all his life, was born in Dobruluck, Germany. He was
married in 1872, to which union two children were born, both of who
are still living, namely: Mr. P. A. Michaelis, Jr., Marion, Wis.,
and Mrs. E. A. Giesel of Chicago. In 1873 he and his wife came to
the U. S. and located in Bear Creek, Waupaca, Co., Wis.
Twenty-three years ago, he wife died, but shorty after coming to
Colby, Wis., ten years ago, he married again. Those who knew him
will remember him as a kind, congenial old man with a friendly
greeting for all. He was a good neighbor and a man of excellent
