Mantor, Maryette (13 Apr 1833 - 22 Augl 1925)

Mrs. Morris Mantor passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Cendt, Saturday, Aug. 22, 1925 at the age of 92 years, 4 months and 9 days. Her health had been failing for some time and she had been seriously ill about a week when the end came. The end was as peaceful as the close of a beautiful summer day, when daylight fades into night with increasing loveliness.

Maryette Cornell was born in Steuben Co., N.Y., April 13, 1833. She was married to Morris Mantor in 1853 and they made their home on a farm near Winneconne. Three sons and four daughters were born to this union, her husband and two daughters having preceded her to the grave. She lived in Winneconne many years. The past two years of her life were spent here (Colby, Wis.) at the home of her son, Myron Mantor and with her daughter, Mrs. George Cendt.

She leaves to mourn her loss two daughters. Mrs. James Hurlbut of Oshkosh, and Mrs. Cendt of Riverside, and three sons, Melvin Mantor of Milwaukee, Martin Mantor of Berlin and Myron Mantor of Riverside.

Funeral services were held at the George Cendt home Sunday afternoon and Monday morning the remains were taken to Winneconne.

Funeral services were held there Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock and interment took place in the Bell Cemetery near the old homestead.

The deceased was the mother of a large and gifted family who will always remember her kind and indulgent disposition.
