(13 Apr 1833 - 22 Augl 1925) Mrs. Morris Mantor
passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Cendt,
Saturday, Aug. 22, 1925 at the age of 92 years, 4 months and 9
days. Her health had been failing for some time and she had been
seriously ill about a week when the end came. The end was as
peaceful as the close of a beautiful summer day, when daylight
fades into night with increasing loveliness. Maryette Cornell
was born in Steuben Co., N.Y., April 13, 1833. She was married to
Morris Mantor in 1853 and they made their home on a farm near
Winneconne. Three sons and four daughters were born to this union,
her husband and two daughters having preceded her to the grave. She
lived in Winneconne many years. The past two years of her life were
spent here (Colby, Wis.) at the home of her son, Myron Mantor and
with her daughter, Mrs. George Cendt. She leaves to
mourn her loss two daughters. Mrs. James Hurlbut of Oshkosh, and
Mrs. Cendt of Riverside, and three sons, Melvin Mantor of
Milwaukee, Martin Mantor of Berlin and Myron Mantor of
Riverside. Funeral services
were held at the George Cendt home Sunday afternoon and Monday
morning the remains were taken to Winneconne. Funeral services
were held there Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock and interment took
place in the Bell Cemetery near the old homestead. The deceased was
the mother of a large and gifted family who will always remember
