Benjamin, a prominent citizen of Colby, Wis. for the past thirty
years, passed away at his home, Friday, Dec. 4, 1925, cancer being
the cause of his departure to the distant shore. Funeral services
were held by the I. O.O. F., of which the deceased was a member, at
the Methodist Church, Rev. Parker officiating, Tuesday, Dec. 8th,
and interment made in the Colby Cemetery. The deceased was
born at Fond du Lac March 21, 1858, thus reaching the age of 67
years, 8 months and 14 days. He was married to Mary E. Meach,
daughter of James H. Sission, in colby, in 1886, and moved here in
1895. Besides his wife, one sister, Mrs. George Lince, mourn his
demise. The out of town
people here for the funeral were Mrs. George Lince, Abrams, Wis.,
Mrs. Ida Tuttle of Swamice, Wis., and Mrs. Jim Shields of Fond du
Lac, Wis. The deceased, a
well driller, was well known in this vicinity and had a host of
friends who will remember him as a man of excellent habits and fine
