Witte, Herman (11 MAY 1851 - Feb 1926)

Herman Witte, whose departure to the undiscovered country was chronicled in this paper last week, was born May 11, 1851, in Schnerling, Pro. Saxon, Germany, and, when a young man, came to the U. S., settling in Manitowoc Co., Wis., where, in 1880, he was married to Laura Hardrath, to which six children were born. In 1901 he came to Green Grove, Clark County, Wis., where he settled on a farm. In his younger days, he was a carpenter.

Fuenral services were held at the Lutheran Church at Green Grove, Rev. Goetsch officiating, and interment made in the Green Grove Cemetery.

His demise is mourned by three children, Richard Witte, Unity, Wis., Mrs. Laura Cammers, Greenwood, Wis., Mrs. Martha Horner, Owen, Wis., one brother and one sister, Fed Witte, Mischicott, Wis., and Mrs. Laura Dansing, Manitowoc, Wis., and five grandchildren.

Mr. Witte departed from this life full of years, ripened with age and experience; he was worthy and well qualified, and fully prepared for adulation into the eternal house, where …(couldn't read the last few words)
