Phonograph (Colby, Wis.) 03/25/1926 Sill, Fred (31 JUL
1847 - 19 Mar 1926) Last Friday
morning, Fred Sill, one of Colby's earliest settlers, passed away
at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 19 days. His mortal remains
were laid to rest in the Colby Cemetery last Monday afternoon, Rev.
Kirchhoeffer officiating. Mr. Sill was born
July 31, 1847, in Stolp, Germany, and in 1872 was married to
Wilhelmine Teil, with whom he lived 53 years. In 1880 they came to
America, settling at Colby, Wis., where they lived ever since. Mr.
Sill's wife died last June, 85 years old, after an illness lasting
thirteen years. The following children died before their parents:
Karl and Ernestine (first wife of Wm. Kowalk) and Paul. Those still
living are Frank Sill of this city, and Louis Sill of Chippewa
Falls, and ten grandchildren. Mr. Fred Sill was
a true Christian in the right sense of the word and loved his
church and God's Holy Word from his youth up. He is now awaiting
the resurrection unto eternal life. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
