(23 OCT 1860 - 11 JUN 1926) Fred Rodenburg of
the town of Frankfort, Marathon Co., Wis., one of our early
pioneers, died at his home of pneumonia, at the age of 65 years.
Funeral services were held under the direction of the Odd Fellows,
Monday, June 14th, and interment made in the Colby Cemetery. The deceased was
born in Hanover, Germany, and came to the United State in 1879. In
1882 he was married. He came to this locality in 1895 and settled
on a homestead that was still a vast wilderness, but, but hard work
and privations, built a fine farm. Besides his wife,
his departure to the undiscovered country is mourned by three
children, namely: Adelaide Kroplein, Colby, Wis., Lena Karn, Colby,
and Henry Rodenburg. Those from out of
town here for the funeral were Henry Luehrs (the nephew of
deceased), and mother (sister of deceased) of Chicago and John
Pfeiffer, also of Chicago. His convictions
were honest and sincere, resulting from much careful study and
analysis on his part and with which he calmly met the fate of all
flesh, and now another name is stricken from the ever lessening
roll of early pioneers. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
