(Marriage - 14 Jan 1926) Mr. and Mrs.
Barnard J. Arendt arrived Monday for a visit at the home of the
latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Hafemann. Mrs. Arendt, nee
Myra Hafemann, was married to Mr. Arendt on Jan. 14, 1926 at South
Bend, Indiana. Mr. Arendt is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Arendt of
Port Edwards, Wis., and is a senior at the Barnes Medical School,
St. Louis, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Arendt have just returned from a trip
to South Bend, Ind., Chicago, Janesville, Milwaukee, and will leave
soon for St. Louis. A large crowd of
neighbors and friends of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Hafemann tendered them
a surprise party at their home, the occasion being Mr. Hafemann's
birthday anniversary and the arrival of their daughter, Myra, and
son-in-law, Mr. Arendt, from their honeymoon. The evening, was
spent by playing cards, music, singing and dancing old time dances.
At midnight, a big lunch with hot coffee was served. About
seventy-three people were present. At two o'clock in the morning,
before the crowd broke up, they all joined in giving the young
married couple a good charivari. They also collected $17.25 for a
present. All report a good time. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
