(Marriage - 21 JUN 1926) A very pretty
wedding took place at the Catholic Church Monday, June 21, 1926,
Rev. Lachnit officiating, when Miss Delphine Weix, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. John Weix, was married to John J. Gries, son of Peter A.
Gries, Sr. Miss Barbara Weix, cousin of the bride, acted as
bridesmaid and Mr. Marzell Weix, brother of the bride, was best
man. Miss Marie Baumgart acted as flower girl and carried a basket
of mixed flowers. The bride was
beautifully gowned in rose georgette crepe and carried a bouquet of
roses and sweet peas. The bridesmaid was
attired in a dress of pea-green georgette crepe and carried a
bouquet of carnations. The flower girl wore a dress of ecru and
rose rayon silk. After the marriage
ceremony, a wedding reception was held at the home of the bride's
parents, the home being nicely decorated in pink and white for the
occasion. The newly married couple left for points in the southern
part of the state and will be at home after July 5th at Colby,
Wis., the groom being employed by the Hull Cooperative Cheese and
Butter Co. Both the bride and
the groom are well and favorably known to the people of Colby and
vicinity, who wish them a happy and long marital voyage. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
