Auberg, Anton D. (3 Jun 1910 – 6 Oct 1977)
The Owen-Withee area was saddened to learn of the passing of Anton D. Auberg, 67
Eau Claire, formerly of Owen and Withee, who died at Sacred Heart Hospital in
Eau Claire, Thursday evening, October 6, 1977.
Mr. Auberg was born June 3, 1910 in Stanley, Wisconsin. He married Charlotte
Zaborowski on Sep 20, 1958 in Withee. He worked as an auto mechanic in the
Owen, Withee, Thorp and Lublin area for many years, and was a partner in Auberg
Pontiac Sales and Service in Withee, until 1955.
He then moved to Eau Claire and worked as a parts man with S.M. Supply Company
until he joined Sam’s Auto Supply Company in 1966.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 10, 1977 at the Lenmark-Gomsrud
Funeral Home in Eau Claire, then at 11:00 a.m. Services were held at St. James
Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert Greatores officiating. Burial service
followed at Lake View Cemetery, Eau Claire.
Mr. Auberg is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Allan Burhop and Mrs.
Ronald Gehrke of Owen, and Mrs. Ronald Taylor, Cicero, Illinois; three
step-children, Mrs. Roger Linse, Eau Claire, Mrs. Robert Biesterveld, Rock
Falls, and Edward Pope, Racine; one brother, Bernard Auberg, Withee; one
sisters, Mrs. Martin Paulsen, Withee; 23 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
