A letter of resignation was received on Thursday, October 20, 1977 from Clarence
E. Gorsegner, District Attorney for Clark County. The Assistant District
Attorney, Gen Radcliffe, will be in charge of the office until an appointment is
made by the Governor.
The letter of resignation was addressed to Clark County Sheriff, David Bertz.
Mr. Gorsegner, in his letter, noted that he was submitting his resignation from
the office “for health reasons,” and will be effective November 1, 1977.
Mr. Gorsegner, a resident of Loyal, is serving his second term as District
Attorney, having been elected to this term in 1973. Previous to that he had been
in private law practice, and had served one term previous to that as District
Attorney.
The notice of resignation will be transmitted to the Governor of Wisconsin by
Sheriff Bertz, and all also will be filed with the County Clerk for Clark
County.
