Thorn, Katherine (1 Feb 1859 - 3 Apr 1927)

Mrs. Katherine Thorn, nee Redig, beloved wife of Mathias Thorn, an esteemed former resident of our city (Colby, Wis.), departed from her earthly life Sunday morning, April 3, 1927, at the age of 68 years, 2 months and 1 day, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Finfenberg, 642 4th Ave., Wauwatosa, Wis.

The departed was born Feb. 1, 1859, about a mile and one-half southwest of St. Lawrence, Wis. She was married to Mathias Thorn, Jan. 14, 1879, and to this union twelve children were born, namely: Mrs. Henry Duellman, Mrs. Henry Bauers, Mrs. John Brill and Math Thorn, of Colby, Wis., Mrs. William Piel of West Allis, Mrs. Ray Rifenberg, Wauwatosa, and Mrs. Herman Glass, Milwaukee. Also Peter, John, Philip, Frank and Tessie, deceased. Two daughters-in-law and forty-eight grandchildren are also among those who mourn the deceased's departure to the great beyond.

Burial took place from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Rifenberg, Wednesday, April 6, 1927 at eight o'clock, to St. Lawrence, Wis., where requiem mass was read by Father Hard of the St. Lawrence Church, where the departed was laid to rest.
