Wicker, a former resident of Colby, Wis., was called to the Great
Beyond Monday, April 11, 1927, at Parrish, Wis., Bright's disease
being the cause of his departure. The remains were taken to Colby
and funeral services were held at the M. E. Church, Wednesday
afternoon, Rev. Hanscom officiating, and interment made in the
Colby Cemetery. The deceased was
born in Tarrytown, N.Y., April 13, 1869, and went west to Iowa at
the age of three. He moved to the town of Hull, Marathon, Co., Wis.
in 1874, when his father homesteaded some land, but ten years later
the family moved to Colby. He was married to Effie E. Lamont Jan.
13, 1889, but his wife preceded him in death in 1920. He purchased
his father's homestead and farmed for a time, but afterwards moved
to town and engaged in the hotel and livery business. He moved to
Parrish, Wis. about thirteen years ago. He was buried on his 58th
birthday. His departure is
mourned by three sons: James, White Lake, Wis., Howard, Jr.,
Parrish, and Donald, Seebridge Field, Mich. Also by a brother and
sister, Mrs. C. E. Enright, White Bear, Minn., and E. L. Wicker,
Colby. Those here from
out of town for the funeral were the deceased's three sons, Mrs.
Enright, White Bear, Minn., Mrs. Tom Patterson, Fifield, Wis., and
Wm. Lamont, Athens. He was a man of
excellent habits, fine moral character, sturdy constitution and his
sunny disposition won for him many friends who extend sympathy to
