ACCIDENTS FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER
The Wisconsin Highway Commission's monthly report of accidents for September shows that there were a total of 198 accidents on the State Trunk Highways during that month. The number of persons involved was 664. Number persons killed, 12. Number of persons seriously injured, 53. Number of persons slightly injured, 158. The remainder escaped without injury.
The accidents occurred as follows: On straight road, 141; on curves and corners, 28; At intersecting cross roads, 10; at railroad crossings, 14; other places, 5.
It will be noted that in 64 of the cases the cause for the accidents is attributed to reckless driving. In nine cases, the drivers were reported as intoxicated.
