A stave bolt hauler undertook to ride Bob Campbell last week, but found he was not the kind of camel that is used to being ridden. The stave bolt handler carries a black eve, and has made up his mind that it does not pay to be a hog in regard to obstructing the highway.

Mr. A. Barton got in a big log to Farning’s mill last week. It was pine, 16 feet long and scaled 1,764. It was cut a years ago last fall, and many attempts have been made to haul it without success until Barton tackled it. After fatting it to the mill it had to be split through the middle with dynamite before it could be sawed because it was so large the carriage would not hold it.
