There was mourning in the house of Carr last Friday morning when the fact became known that Daisy, the pet jersey cow, has passed to the pasture land beyond the river and would no longer furnish the lacteal fluid for mortals.
J. L. Sullivan went over to the old country to fight Mitchell, but when they got into the ring Mitchell turned the fight into a foot race, and the mill was declared a draw. J. L. don’t brag on being a runner, consequently he failed to catch Mitchell. The reports of the fight show conclusively that Mitchell is a coward and only depended upon his fleetness of foot to save himself from being knock out.
