(12 JUN 1852 - 30 Dec 1928) Mrs. Marie
Thygeson, one of the early settlers of this community, passed away
at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. A.
Young, Sunday morning, Dec. 30, 1928, a complication of diseases
being the cause of her departure to the distant shore. Funeral
services were held Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 2nd, at the
Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford, Wis., and interment made in The
Colby Cemetery. Mrs. Marie
Thygeson was born at Viela, Denmark, June 12, 1852, coming to
Racine, Wis., at the age of twenty-two years. She was married to
Martin Thygeson at that place on Dec. 24, 1875, and to this union
three children were born, one daughter, Mrs. J. A. Young of Colby
and two sons, N. C. Thygeson of Proctor, Minn., and Carl Thygeson
of Racine, who, with ten grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Nels
Anderson of Racine, mourn her departure. She was one of the
pioneers of this section of the country, as she came here with her
husband when she was a young woman and settled on the farm which
has been her home ever since. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
