(25 JUN 1879 - 22 Feb 1929) Mrs. Casper Heimes
died Friday night, Feb. 22, 1929, after a very long and serious
illness, cancer of the lung and bone being the cause of her
departure. Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran Church
Wednesday afternoon at 2:00, Rev. Kirchhoefer officiating, and
interment was made in the Colby Cemetery. Mrs. Heimes, nee
Radtke, was born June 25, 1879, in Fond du Lac, Wis. On Sept. 5,
1901, she was married to Casper Heimes at Colby, Wis. both of their
children preceded the mother in death, namely: Glen, nearly five
years old, and Karl, nine months old. Surviving here are her
husband and two sisters: Mrs. Hattie Frome of the town of Colby,
Clark Co. and Mrs. Edna Franz of the town of Hull, Marathon Co. The
deceased reached the age of 49 years, 7 months and twenty-eight
days. For twelve years
Mr. and Mrs. Heimes resided at Catawba, where Mr. Heimes was
engaged in the lumbering business, returning to Colby in 1918,
where they have resided ever since. Mrs. Heimes had
many friends who will always remember her as a dear friend, and
while she has gone from the scene, the conflicts, the sorrows and
pleasures of life, she will still live in the hearts of those who
