(23 JUN 1863 - 18 May 1929) Mrs. Charles H.
Tesmer died Saturday, May 18, 1929, at home here in Colby, Wis.,
after an illness of about two weeks, apoplexy being the cause of
her departure. Funeral services were held at the Zion Lutheran
Church Tuesday, the Rev. Kirchhoefer officiating, and interment was
made in the Colby Cemetery. She attained the age of 65 years, 10
months and 25 days. Mrs. Anna
Elizabeth Tesmer, nee Kading, was born June 23, 1863, in Watertown,
Wis., and was married Oct. 1, 1880, nearly fifty years ago, to
Charles H. Tesmer, who survives her. From 1880 to 1891 they lived
at Sturgeon Bay, Wis., and then moved to Colby, where they have
been living since. One of their children, Henry, died at the age of
four years. Those still living are: George of Colby, William of
Wausau, Charles of Kohler, Wis., Mrs. Clara Wescott of Colby. Also
eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The following
brothers and sisters also mourn her death: Emil Kading of Colby,
Max Kading of Watertown, Wis., Mrs. Herman Borchardt of Watertown,
Wis., Mrs. Ida Manning of New York City, Mrs. Thomas Lambie and
Mrs. Herbert Patterson of Crandon, Wis., and Mrs. John Rowell of
Minnesota. Mrs. Tesmer was a
member of the Zion Lutheran Church since 1891. She was a woman of
strong Christian character; patient, loving and self-sacrificing.
Well May her sons and daughters cherish her memory as a precious
legacy, and as a word of comfort, we would point them to the
promise, "At eventide it shall be light." © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
