Phonograph (Colby, Wis.) 06/06/1929 Olson, Otto S. (27
MAY 1889 - 27 May 1929) Funeral services
for Otto S. Olson, whose death was reported in this paper last
week, were held at the Norwegian Lutheran Church at Curtiss, Clark
County, Wis., Thursday afternoon, May 30, 1929, Rev. Skagen
officiating, and interment made in the Pine Hill Cemetery north of
Curtiss. He was a young man of fine moral character and was held in
high esteem by all in Curtiss and vicinity, which was shown by the
large crowd of people who turned out for the funeral, which was so
large that it was necessary to hold the services outside as all
could not get into the church. Mr. Olson was born
May 27, 1889, on the old home place near Curtiss, where he lived
all his life, with the exception of one year attending the
Northland Academy and two years attending Colby High School. He was
married to Miss Emma Goesch, who survives him, April 12, 1913, and
bought his father's farm April 20, 1915. He served as mail carrier
on R. 2, Curtiss, for eight years. He was taken sick
Wednesday afternoon, May 22nd, which developed into bronchial
pneumonia and seemed to be recovering from this when on Sunday
afternoon, May 26, acute dilation of the heart developed, and in
spite of all that loving care and skilled physicians could do, he
passed on to the distant shore on May, 27, 1929, being his fortieth
birthday. Besides his wife,
he leaves three children, Elda, Wayne and Merwin; five brothers,
Oluf of Neillsville; Tony at Withee; Peter at Tripoli, Mike at
Sherwood, Fred at Colby and his father at home. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
