AN OLD RESIDENT DIES
Once more death has called one of our early settlers. Mrs. Caroline Miller died Monday, morning, Oct. 27, 1919, after an illness of only a few days, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Schlichter, in the Town of Cleveland.
Caroline Thur was born in Germany Jan. 13, 1836 and died Oct. 27, 1919, only lacking a few months of reaching the age of 84 years. She came to Milwaukee when quite young and from there to the town of Cleveland. She was married to Fred Miller about 41 years ago. Mr. Miller died fifteen years ago in February. She has since made her home with her children.
She has been quite poorly the past year but at no time has she been so she could not take interest in her work and in the pleasure of life. The cause of her death was infirmities of old age and complete break down.
She leaves six children, four girls and two boys: Lewis Maves of Wash., Mrs. Ida Dupont and Mrs. Henry Schlichter, Mrs. Henry Bequette of Cleveland, Mrs. John Vanderplough of La Crosse and John Draheim of Fairchild; beside four step sons and two step daughters and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The funeral service was held at the Lutheran church in Fairchild last Thursday at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Geske officiating. Interment was in the Cleveland cemetery.
We shall meet but we shall miss her. There will be a vacant chair, We will look for dearest mother, But will never find her there.
