EMIL LAHN

Funeral Services for Emil Lahn, 84, of Fairchild, who passed away at the Black River Memorial Hospital Sunday afternoon, Sept. 18, 1977 were held Wednesday, Sep 21 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Fairchild with Father David Ziegelmaier as officiant. Burial was in the church cemetery with military rites. Rosary services were held Tuesday, Sept. 20th at 8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Augusta. Emil John Frederick Lahn, son of Frederick and Helen Frank Lahn, was born May 27, 1893 at Fairchild. He attended the Fairchild schools and entered the army in 1917 and was discharged in July of 1919. He was united in marriage to Lottie Koboski on May 7, 1920 at Fairchild. Mr. Lahn was a member of the American Legion of Fairchild for 55 years and service officer for the American Legion of Fairchild for 50 years. He farmed in the Fairchild area for many years and he worked at Pressure Cooker in Eau Claire for twelve years. He was town Charman for the Town of Fairchild for six years, services on the Rabensdorf School Board for several years and for 15 years he was assistant chief of police for the Village of Fairchild. Mr. Lahn is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Vernon Tweet of Cottage Grove, Minn. and Mrs. Charles Grimm of Cincinnati, Ohio; one foster daughter daughter, Marion Marsolek of Cudahy; 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren,; 2 brothers, George of Albion, Mich., and Carl of Fairchild and one sister, Mrs. Arthur Erdman of Augusta. He was preceded in death by one son, Arnold in 1971.
