Leland Cornwell was born in Wisconsin in 1869 and married Kate B. Heaslett. She was born in 1873, the daughter of Thomas and Anna (Johnson) Heaslett. Leland's parents were, Orville & Ann Elizabeth (Palmer) Cornwell. Both parents were born in New York State and the 1880 census for Pine Valley, WI shows that Orville was born in 1832 and Anna in 1837. It also lists one older brother, Bert, who was born in NY in 1859. Leland died in 1953 and was laid to rest in the Neillsville, Wisconsin City Cemetery. Five years later, in 1958, his wife Kathryn "Kate" was also buried there.
