ENTERPRISE (Owen, Clark County, Wis.) 11/16/1918 Tromblay, Dewey
(1898 - 11 NOV 1918) Taken to the
hospital the day his son was born, the death, only five days later
from pneumonia, of Dewey Tromblay, aged 20, at St. Mary's Hospital
Monday morning, was particularly sad and tragic. Dewey had been
employed until recently by the Fountain-Campbell Lumber Co. as
brakeman on their logging train, resigning this position to go to
Stevens Point and take a position as Soo Line brakeman. He had been
employed there about a week when he was taken sick with influenza
and was sent home. Arriving here Tuesday of last week, hew went to
St. Mary's Hospital the following day. A son was born to Mr. and
Mrs. Tromblay at their home in this city the same day. The terrible
shock of her husband's death at such a time has proven almost more
than the wife can bear, and she has been very low. The parents of the
deceased survive him, and he also leaves five sisters, Evelyn,
Grace, Lucy, Leda, Lorraine, and one brother, Leonard. The remains were
taken Tuesday to Withee, Clark County, Wis., where the funeral and
burial were held Wednesday. (Ladysmith News-Budget) Dewey Tromblay,
prior to his going to Ladysmith, was a resident of this city and
was employed by the John S. Owen Lumber Co. for nearly four years.
His wife is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hansen residing 6
miles northwest of Withee. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
