Spencer News
George Gunz, 77, Route 2, Spencer, died Saturday night at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Jasperson Funeral Home here. The Rev. L. L. McCormick, Chili, will officiate, & burial will be made in the Veefkind Cemetery.
Mr. Gunz was born Dec. 6, 1887, in Mount Vernon, S. D., & received his education there & in the town of Veefkind. In 1901, he came with his parents to Spencer where he had resided since. He was never married.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. William Reinheimer, Spencer; & Mrs. Emma Leach, Circle Springs, Alaska; & two brothers, Albert Gunz, Beloit; & Edwin Gunz, Spencer. He was preceded in death by a brother.
